🏛️ Federal Requirements (BLM)

Annual Maintenance Fees

  • $200 per lode claim, tunnel site, or mill site
  • $200 per 20 acres (or portion thereof) for placer claims

Federal Deadline

September 2, 2025 - File with BLM by this date

Initial Recording

New claims must be filed with BLM within 90 days of the date of location.

State Filing Deadline

November 1, 2025

File renewal with County Recorder on or before this date

County Recording Requirements

You must file with the County Recorder in the county where your claim is located:

  • New claims: Within 90 days of location
  • Annual renewals: By November 1 each year
  • County fees vary by location
