Annual Maintenance Fees

- $200 per 20 acres (or portion thereof) for placer claims
Critical Deadline
September 2, 2026 - Maintenance fees or Small Miner's Waiver must be filed/postmarked by this date.
⚠️ Colorado Requirements
When filing a new claim in Colorado, you must record with the county clerk and recorder of the county where the claim is located.
- Map Scale: Colorado requires maps to be at a scale of not less than 1 inch = 1,500 feet.
- Corner Posts: Must be substantial posts (4x4 wood or 3+ inch metal) standing at least 2 feet above ground. Stone monuments are also permitted in some cases.
- Reclamation: Any disturbance requires notification to the Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety (DRMS).
